Iran in close up

Accommodation

During your roundtrip in Iran, you will sleep in good tourist class hotels. Individual travelers and guests with travel made to order can, if they wish, choose for other types of accommodation.

Inland transport
Looking at the great distances in Iran, of course we opt for flying. A lot of airlines, such as Mahan Air, Iran Air and Iran Aseman fly to many destinations in the country.

The country is proud of its extensive network of connections by coach. All cities are within easy reach and most roads are good. By train you can travel from North to South and from East to West.

Credit cards and ATM

You can't use your bank card in Iran. There are only a few places where you can pay with your credit card and only if it is a MasterCard. We advise you to take enough cash money.

Food and drinks

Iran has several micro climates. That means vegetables, fruit and milk product in abundance. Every region boasts of its own specialties. The country is well known worldwide for the excellent caviar and the gorgeous shrimps. In most Persian foods you will find meat beans and fresh vegetables. Kebab is a popular dish with chicken or beef. According to the norms and values of Islam alcohol is forbidden. But you can choose from a vast array of fruit drinks, soft drinks and alcohol free beer. The Iranians also drink a lot of coffee and tea.

Money

In Iran you can only pay with the official Rial (IRR). At money changers and banks you can change euro's and pounds against Rials.

Health

For Iran no vaccinations are obliged. We advise you anyway to contact a health institution for recommended vaccinations.

Climate

In Iran you will experience cold winters and hot summers. But you can travel all year round..

What to wear?

During a visit to Iran, you have to behave according to Islamic norms and values. That means: clothes that cover the whole body. Women should wear a scarf to cover their hair and ample covering clothes (shoulders and legs). A light rain/winter coat is the best option.
